Acupressure
Acupressure is an ancient Chinese healing method that
involves applying pressure to meridian points on the body to
relieve pain. Acupressure relaxes muscular tension and
balances the vital life forces of the body. By using deep
but gentle finger pressure on specific points the blocked
energy starts to release, allowing your body/mind to relax.
-
Aromatherapy
The use of volatile plant oils, including essential oils,
for psychological and physical wellbeing. Aromatherapy is
based on the theory that organic matter can have healing
properties. The preparations must be true essential oils and
not synthetic; otherwise they are useless. In addition to
their effect on mood, essential oils have healing properties
for the skin.
-
Ayurveda
This Indian philosophy maintains that health is a state of
balance between the body, mind, senses and the soul. In
western medicine only the body is treated while the mind,
senses and soul are largely ignored. Any infirmity at these

Body
Scrub/ Body Rub/ Exfoliation
A skin treatment where the upper layer of dead skin cells is
sloughed off using a variety of techniques and combinations
of sea salt, essential oils, water, skin brush or loofah. It
is crucial that the therapist balances the treatment so that
the skin is gently exfoliated without stripping off
essential moisture.
-
Body
Wrap
Body wraps cocoon you in hot, wet linen sheets, over wrapped
with Mylar or cotton blankets. Sometimes a wrap simply
consists of sheets steeped in herbal formulas, seaweed or it
can follow a mineral mud. Cool compresses should be applied
to your forehead to keep your temperature from climbing too
high. Not for the very claustrophobic. The mildly
claustrophobic can leave their arms outside the wrap.
-
Deep Muscle Massage
Deep massage is an intense massage directed to individual
muscle fibers and is both corrective and therapeutic. It
unsticks the muscle fibers while releasing deep tensions and
removing toxins and re-educating the muscle to operate at
full capacity. Creates a prolonged state of reduced muscular
tension by applying deep muscle compression and cross fiber
friction to increase blood and lymphatic flow.

dead cells and debris. The treatment can either be chemical
or physical.
-
Facial
All facials have some basic procedures in common: cleansing,
surface-impurity extraction, exfoliating, toning and
moisturizing. In getting a facial your skin will be cleansed
of makeup and dirt. Then an exfoliant will be massaged
lightly into your skin. Then a toner will be patted or
misted on to refine the pores; this may be applied before or
after the moisturizing step. Moisturizing may be
accomplished with a masque, or with lotions that are removed
after only a few minutes. A facial massage helps to firm,
tone and relax the muscles.
